Tasting Notes

Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Aug 20
The 2016 du Tertre has a refined bouquet of black fruit infused with loamy, sous-bois scents, gradually evolving more intensity with aeration. The medium-bodied palate is well-defined, with lithe tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a detailed, quite precise finish. This just requires a couple more years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting.

It rolls out with expressive scents of black raspberries, warm cassis, and redcurrant jelly, plus hints of tobacco leaf and dried Provencal herbs. Light to medium-bodied, the palate delivers lovely purity, with grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with a quiet intensity.
